Project background

The PSD contains 73 layers including 10 groups and consists of 769.284.115 bytes.
The original rendered MP4 is 16 seconds long.
The project is rendered in 60FPS, with a resolution of 2160×3840

“Disquiet is a project I made for school together with my classmate, @finnthefishh_.
We made it for an ambition project where I was exploring the Art Director profession.

The artwork was made by my classmate, we were in contact a lot for this project.
The character was made to resemble myself in Arcane’s world, which she nailed perfectly.

This project also featured very specific Sound Effects, which I did like no other project.
Some sound effects were made by @michelleyusound but most produced with sound design by myself.

This project taught me a lot about how I make my projects but also how I want to make projects.
I think 2025 will be a good year in how projects will evolve.”

Project background

The PSD contains 138 layers including 18 groups and consists of 307.899.904 bytes.
The original rendered MP4 is 1 minute 48 seconds long.
There is a refined version for my Bluesky page that is exactly 60 seconds long.
Both files are rendered in 25FPS, with a resolution of 1080×1920

“I was sitting on this project for a while, I wanted to experiment more with colors and a less scary style which I’d say worked out pretty well.”

When I initially found the artwork I contacted the artist through Email ask for their permission to use their artwork in my project, after a couple weeks I got a response and it was approved!

“The background is a heavy mix of OMORI’s assets and photographs I took of the Northern Lights.
The color palette also resembles these, the Northern Lights are pretty rare to occur in my country and I’m happy I was able to take some photo’s of them.”

“I discarded the original colors for this artwork and tried to merge them with a blurred layer of the background which I had already made along with some extra effects.”

“The AFX for this project took a WHILE, I wanted to really experiment with them and make something truly unique, OMORI game files helped me alot with this.
The VFX are heavily synced with the audio in this one, in the end there were 9 layers that synced with the audio in one way or another.”

Project background

The PSD contains 67 layers including 6 groups and consists of 108.783.366 bytes.
The rendered MP4 is 36 seconds long, 25FPS in 1080×1920 and consists of 70.013.492 bytes.

“I don’t tend to color grade a whole lot but that is something I did try this time.
I still have a lot of learning to do in color grading, which may be visible but I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

This project initially started as just messing around with several layers that ended up creating its background.
I sat on the background for quite a while until I found KmkM’s artwork on Twitter (x).

It may not be very clear but the character in the artwork is actually OMORI!
It wouldn’t be a h7lyx project without an OMORI reference in it someway or another..

I ended up trying to make blood, which is especially visible near his neck and collarbones.

Most layers consist of the character edits and Photoshop based VFX.

A fun fact about the background is that it consists out of heavily edited photos of my very own eyes!
